The Document Verification Service (DVS) presents a range of benefits to business and government organisations that need to verify identification details.

The DVS supports online transaction and registration processes, while also protecting client privacy as there is a reduced need for physical document storage. It also assists in reducing the risk of fraud and identity crime.

The service is not designed for use by individuals seeking to validate personal documents. Validation of personal documents may be performed by a notary public. Notaries public can be found on Supreme Court or Law Society listings for each Australian state or territory. Information relating to Statutory declarations is also available on the Attorney-General’s Department website.
