Gateway service providers
A Document Verification Service (DVS) gateway service provider (GSP) is an organisation authorised to direct information match requests to and from the DVS hub on behalf of approved users.
Responsibilities of a gateway service provider include:
- establish a functional connection to the DVS hub which can be used by authorised business users to match client identity information
- assess business user eligibility to use the DVS and advise the Attorney-General’s Department
- ensure business users meet the DVS consent requirements
- append the DVS Terms and Conditions of Use to contracts with business users.
An organisation must enter into an agreement with the Attorney-General’s Department to become a gateway service provider. A gateway service provider can access the DVS to provide services to business users, or as a sole business user connecting directly to the service.
There is a connection fee for gateway service providers to link systems with the DVS hub infrastructure. This is in addition to transaction charges and business user application fees which will be billed to gateway service providers where applicable. Gateway Service Providers are responsible for billing business users.
Terms and conditions
Organisations that apply must abide by the DVS terms and conditions of use, which include client consent, ICT security and applicable fees. There will be regular audits of providers to ensure requirements are met.
Terms and conditions are detailed in the gateway service provider agreement, which includes other requirements, for example that operation of your gateway service is for the sole purpose of providing access to the DVS for authorised business users.
